The secret to a successful crowdfunding campaign

Happy Monday, fabulous! 

This week's business tip: Crowdfunding is a great way to get additional funding for your business and generate brand awareness. Give yourself at least three months to plan and promote your campaign. 

If you aren't familiar with crowdfunding---it is a relatively new way to raise money for your business. Instead of going to banks, microlenders or investors, as an entrepreneur you create a campaign to the general public and ask for their monetary support. 

Kinda cool, right? It's especially cool if you love social media and want to leverage your following to support your business. Even celebrities are getting in on it. LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow, Don Cheadle, James Franco and Kristen Bell have all used crowdfunding campaigns to get their projects jumpstarted. 

So cool. But, while crowdfunding might seem like a walk in the park- there is a lot of work that goes into having a successful campaign.
