Focus on increasing your social media efforts and becoming more strategic with your marketing. Start this Saturday with Small Business Saturday. Patti LaBelle, her pies and holiday marketing tips for your accounting practice:

Ooooweeee. Patti LaBelle and her pies have been all the talk. 

Patti's Sweet Potato Pie was introduced at Wal-Mart stores and sold one pie every second for 72 hours straight. YUM. The sweeeet success of business. Love it. 

According to Fortune, Wal-Mart struck a deal with Patti LaBelle in order to bolster their plunging bakery sales. They have revamped the entire department- hiring cake specialists, bakery experts, switched up their inventory- in order to increase sales and improve the perception of their bakery's quality.

What can you learn from Patti's success?

The power of marketing. This Thursday, Thanksgiving will be celebrated in the States. A popular holiday for communities that adore Patti LaBelle, she and Wal-Mart released her pies just before the popular day of feasting. Followed by a host of media appearances and press releases. And you don't need a big budget like Wal-Mart to have a successful holiday launch.

The most successful aspect of their marketing was a YouTube video that was uploaded by an independent fan testing Patti's pie. It generated 2.5 million views and provided free marketing for Wal-Mart and Patti LaBelle.

Your challenge this week:

Brainstorm three ways you market your accounting practice during the holiday season. Most of your competition will be taking vacation, making this the perfect time for you to get your name out there.
